Fluocinonide Cream

Fluocinonide is a high potency synthetic corticosteroid formulated for topical application on the skin. It functions by exerting strong anti inflammatory, antipruritic (anti itch), and vasoconstrictive effects, making it a powerful tool for managing stubborn and severe dermatological conditions.
It is primarily approved to reduce the inflammation, redness, itching, and swelling associated with various skin disorders. Common uses include moderate to severe cases of eczema (atopic dermatitis), psoriasis, contact dermatitis, lichen planus, and severe allergic reactions like poison ivy. It is available in several vehicle forms—including cream, ointment, gel, and solution—allowing a doctor to select the most appropriate one based on the lesion type and location.
Due to its significant potency, fluocinonide requires cautious use under medical supervision.
