Cancidas

Cancidas, containing caspofungin (as acetate), is an antifungal therapy primarily used to treat serious fungal infections, particularly those caused by Candida and Aspergillus species. It belongs to the echinocandin class, which works by inhibiting the synthesis of beta-(1,3)-D-glucan, an essential component of the fungal cell wall. By disrupting this structure, Cancidas weakens the integrity of fungal cells, leading to cell death while sparing human cells, which do not contain beta-glucan.
