Galvus contains vildagliptin, a type of dipeptidyl peptidase‑4 (DPP‑4) inhibitor used to support blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It works by slowing the breakdown of incretin hormones such as glucagon‑like peptide‑1 (GLP‑1) and glucose‑dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), which are released after meals and help regulate glucose metabolism.
