This medication is most often prescribed for the management of hypercalcemia of malignancy, a condition where calcium levels become dangerously high due to cancer. It is also used in patients with bone metastases from cancers such as breast cancer and multiple myeloma to reduce skeletal complications, bone pain, and the risk of fractures. In addition, Pamidronate Disodium is beneficial in treating Paget’s disease of bone, where it helps regulate abnormal bone remodeling and improves bone strength.

Before starting treatment, kidney function and serum calcium levels are carefully evaluated. Adequate hydration is essential before and after infusion to reduce renal risks.
